This house was built on a lot that stood vacant for more than 35 years all the while the lots around it had houses constructed.  Because of the 20 foot slope from front yard to back yard and the 36 mature post oak trees, most people thought the site to be unbuildable.  The solution was to design an inverted two-story house integrated into the slope of the site and designed around keeping as many of the existing trees as possible.
